Welcome to Journeys Oregon

Journeys Oregon is deeply committed to empowering the Black youth of Portland by providing them with comprehensive educational assistance and support. Alongside our educational initiatives, we offer year-round basketball training programs that place a strong emphasis on fostering personal growth through both one-on-one and group mentorship. Through these mentorship opportunities, we aim to develop essential life skills and cultivate a sense of community among the young individuals we serve.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Basketball League and Tournaments: These tournaments are a chance for our players to be seen by college-level coaches and scouts, giving them the opportunity to turn their athletic talent into a college career.

Mentoring: All of our programming is strongly focused on one-on-one mentoring between youth and coaches. Our Coaches provide culturally specific, positive interactions and supports for youth.

Employment Opportunities for Youth: Youth who have spent more time in our program have the opportunity to work as paid staff to supervise and run almost all aspects of the events while gaining transferable job skills.
